Fabric Blocks Bag
(November
7th) by Eldrid Røyset
Førde |
 |
In
this class you will learn
how to make two traditional
patchwork block patterns,
- not by regular sewing,
but by just folding fabric
pieces and placing them
on top of each other. The
blocks will then be used
to decorate a bag. |
| |
The
principle of making these
blocks is to fold fabric
pieces in different ways,
place the pieces on top
of each other, and they
are then fastened only by
a seam sewn around the block
edges. There will be several
layers of fabric at the
block edges, so the blocks
are not well suited to join
into quilts in the usual
way. However, they are excellent
as decorative elements on
the bag you are going to
make. |
| |
The
bag will have two handles
and an optional closing
flap. It will also have
a lining with two different
pockets in it; one simple
pocket and one hidden, zippered
pocket. However, you can
choose not to have pockets
at all, or have only one
instead of two, or you can
have two of the same kind
instead of two different
ones. |
| |
All
the lessons have detailed
step by step text, photos,
and illustrations.

Button,
Button, YOU'VE Got the Button!
(October 17th) by Eleanor Levie
- We all know you've got a big
old jar or box--or maybe a treasure
chest chock-full of buttons.
This class is sure to unbutton
and unleash your imagination
to think about buttons outside
the boxand onto quilts,
and quilted accessories, and
wearables. After all, whether
buttons are functional or purely
decorative, they're the perfect
accents for everything you make.
