New Class!

A Trio of Patchwork Projects by Rhonda Woodsmall
The checkbook cover is made with the Star Point Blocks and the Combination Squares Blocks.

The coin purse is made with the Wings Blocks.

The tote bag is made up with Drunkard's Path Blocks. I have a new way to make the Drunkard's Path block that means you don't have to do curved seams. You will sew a circle onto a fabric square but that is the only "not straight" sewing involved in this method.

The designs look complicated but you will learn my tricks of the trade that make them really easy. A beginner to an expert can do these projects. All you need to be able to do is sew a straight seam. You also should be willing to take the time to make sure seams meet where they should. Accuracy is important in miniatures. It makes your project look good! You will be using a template and cutting with a rotary cutter.

It really is easier than it looks to make these projects! I often hear people say I could never do that! But then I think if you only knew the tricks- yes you can!!

Fun Classes

Nine Patch Kameleon (September 5th) by Eldrid Røyset Førde - In this class you will learn the Kameleon Quilt® technique of sewing three dimensional curved triangles in between the blocks, and between blocks and borders. The inset curved triangles which can be flipped over and buttoned down to either side, will make for a versatile design with lots of possible looks, - you can practically have a new look to the quilt every day. NEW! A Trio of Patchwork Projects (September 5th) by Rhonda Woodsmall - Are you ready to try a new piecing method? We are going to make a checkbook cover, a coin purse and a tote bag. My cut down method allows you to make "Blocks"with small pieces without paper piecing and you won’t ever handle anything smaller than a 1 ½" square. "Blocks" are made by sewing fabric swatches together and then cutting out squares with a template. There are three different "Blocks"to learn. The small pieces just happen as you sew the squares together. It's fun and dramatic looking! More information... Sign up Now!

Quilted Portraits (September 12th) by Therese May - Make a wonderful fantasy portrait quilt!! Start with a very simple drawing of a face (like kindergarten!!!) More information... Sign up Now!

Learn to Fabric Paint (September 12th) by Vicki Johnson - Learn to fabric paint while doing a flowering apple tree. Several techniques to use fabric paint to create landscapes will be presented in this class. Using a pattern of a flowering apple tree you will make a small painting to use in a quilt, garment, wall hanging or other small project. Instruction for using fabric paint in each procedure will be given along with a general description of the type of fabric paint used. Everyone should have a finished 9” x 9” painting at the end of class.. More information... Sign up Now!

Somerset Patchwork (September 19th) by Eldrid Røyset Førde - Somerset patchwork is made by folding fabric squares or rectangles and sewing them on to a foundation fabric. More information... Sign up Now!

NEW! Confused Wells (September 19th) by Cinzia White - Fed up with all of those leftover scraps lying around… too small for anything really but too big to throw out. Well Confused Wells is your answer. Made using strips and quick piecing techniques this is the perfect solution. In fact the more scraps the better. Any scrap bigger than 1in by 9in is usable. Confused Wells is a generous 56in x 72in but it is easy to change the final size to suit your needs and your scraps. More information... Sign up Now!

Your First Quilt (September 26th) by Maria Hrabovsky - If you have never made a quilt, this class is for you. It will take you step by step from the tools and fabrics you will need right through to a finished, labelled, machine-quilted, small quilt. Students will choose the size of quilt they wish to make: doll quilt, wall hanging, crib quilt, baby quilt, or child size. Each student’s quilt will be different from the others. The only prerequisite for this class is knowing how to use your sewing machine. More information... Sign up Now!
