What is QuiltCampus
QuiltCampus is a two phase project.
Phase One was to set up a chat channel so quilters from all over the world could have a safe and fun place to chat live with other quilters. This task has been completed. The chat channel has been up and running over a year now. If you check the schedule, you can see the hours of the day that there is a hostess in the channel. The goal is to provide a hostess from 6am to 12mid every day. The hostess is there to answer any questions about chatting as well as take care of any problems that may arise. The great thing about our chat channel, is we give free patterns/programs called Special chats.
Phase Two started in 2006. QuiltCampus provides online classes from well-known quilting teachers. QuiltCampus is always scouting for new teachers. If you or a friend are interested, please contact us. Online classes are not done through chat but through web pages that the student can access at any time. There is also a web forum so that the students and teacher can discuss the class while taking it. Check out our list of classes.
Phase One (chat channel) is separate from Phase Two (online classes). However the two quilting resources complement each other.

What is the difference between Classes and Special chat programs?

Classes
QuiltCampus has two kinds of programs. Classes are presented by well-known quilting teachers. The class lessons are on web pages that are available all the time during the class session. The teacher and students correspond with each other via a web forum. There is a fee for the class for QuiltCampus has to pay the teacher. Click here to check out our Classes. Click here to read more about our Classes.
Special Chat programs
QuiltCampus has another kind of program called Special chats and they are presented by quilting volunteers during chat sessions. All Special chat programs are free. The volunteer and students correspond with each other via a live chat channel. The step web pages are only available during the Special Chat sessions. Each week the current week's step and the past week's step are available. So if you miss a week that is OK. There are two sessions each week for many of the Special chat programs. You can come to either session during the week to get that week's step. They even post steps of the past! All you need to do is fill out the Past Step Request Form on the main pattern page. When a past step is requested, it is put on the schedule to be posted during a future chat session of the Special chat program. Click here to check out our Special Chat programs.
