Teacher/QuiltCampus Responsibilities
Teachers pick out workshops or classes they have not given online for at least 6 months. After choosing a class to teach, they fill out the Teacher Application on the Teacher at QuiltCampus page. A picture of the finished project the students will make during the class must be provided with the application.
QuiltCampus reviews all applications. When a class is accepted, a Starter Contract in PDF format is sent to the teacher.
Teachers then perform the requested tasks. The class must be written in both text and picture format which is similar to writing chapters in a book. The QuiltCampus editor works with the teacher and when the lessons are ready, they are forwarded electronically to the QuiltCampus web developer. Photos can also be sent through the post office.
All class materials are self-contained. Students do not need to obtain anything external to take to class. This includes patterns. Patterns required for classes are presented as PDF files during classes. If needed, QuiltCampus will help teachers in converting patterns to PDF format.
All class content provided by teachers must be their original work. Classes cannot be taken from books or classes previously taught by others.
QuiltCampus will set up the web pages, a forum and a gallery for the class.

After the Starter Contract tasks have been performed, a date is set to give the class. All classes start on a Saturday. A new lesson is presented each weekend until all the lessons are online.

Teachers will be sent a formal contract.
QuiltCampus advertises classes and collects student fees.
QuiltCampus also sets up a password protected forum for each class. This enables teachers and students to discuss their classes while they are being presented. Class Forums open on the Wednesday preceding each class, giving teachers and students the opportunity to meet and get to know one another ahead of time.
A photo gallery is provided for each class enabling students to share and view their work with teachers and fellow students. This sharing is a very important part of every class.
Teachers are available to answer student questions from class start dates to two weeks after the last lesson appears online. The preset Forum at QuiltCampus is used for this purpose.
Teachers are paid their portion of class fees after classes end.

Copyright Issues
QuiltCampus takes the precaution of educating students about copyright laws and making the electronic copying of class material very difficult to achieve.
A button to pay and sign up for classes appears on the Class Registration page. Above the button is a link that states: "You must read the terms before signing up for any class".
QuiltCampus class copyright terms are repeated at the top of every class's web page.
Class material appears in a popup window which makes it difficult for students to save these web pages to their computers. Right mouse clicks have been disabled and text on these pages cannot be highlighted or selected.
Click here to test print a pattern.

Teacher's Pay
Student fees are based on class material and the number of lessons in the class. A percentage of these fees go to the teacher and a percentage remains with QuiltCampus. Teacher's percentages are determined by the number of students in a class.
Teachers are paid promptly after their classes end. QuiltCampus grants the choice of being paid by company check or by PayPal, whichever individual teachers prefer.
