Fabric Blocks Bag by Eldrid Røyset Førde |
 |
In
this class you will learn how to make two traditional patchwork block
patterns, - not by regular sewing, but by just folding fabric pieces
and placing them on top of each other. The blocks will then be used
to decorate a bag. |
| |
The
principle of making these blocks is to fold fabric pieces in different
ways, place the pieces on top of each other, and they are then fastened
only by a seam sewn around the block edges. There will be several
layers of fabric at the block edges, so the blocks are not well suited
to join into quilts in the usual way. However, they are excellent
as decorative elements on the bag you are going to make. |
| |
The
bag will have two handles and an optional closing flap. It will also
have a lining with two different pockets in it; one simple pocket
and one hidden, zippered pocket. However, you can choose not to have
pockets at all, or have only one instead of two, or you can have two
of the same kind instead of two different ones. |
